the September cardigan

The September cardigan is knit in a simple structure pattern that makes it extra warm and a bit stretchy so it grows with the child. It has a long, narrow fit and extra length to the arms. The wood buttons are perfect with the almost rustic look of this mossy green, soft wool cardigan.

Taking a walk in crisp air, seeing apples ripe and ready, hugging an oak - the September cardigan is perfect for such things.

Hat in thin, natural wool from Nøstebarn, blue vest knit by my mother, and these pants.

The first pile of pants for this season is inspired by the deep, rich colours of early autumn; dark, ripening berries, purple garden flowers, grass, leaves, harvest and greens - the moment before everything turns golden.

The pants are very simple with elastic waist and ankles. I usually make three at the time of these, using different fabric qualities depending on season and intended use. They have a great fit and the simplicity of the pattern makes it perfect for sewing for fast growing little ones.

This little pile is for Storebror, my 4 year old. The fabrics are a purple babycord in 100% cotton, a dark lime coloured one in the same quality, and a charcoal woolmix recycled from my old pants that I got paint on. Purple is his favourite colour. He is happy.
